Return of the Mack

Dear, sweet, computer, I know you're older than dirt and need copious amounts of hand holding but I promise not to shoot that horrid canned air into your delicate bits too often if you will just continue to run somewhat smoothly from here on out, mmkay??

So now that's what I've been up to, coaxing my poor, old ass computer to life once more so that I may return to blogging. On the good news front, without the allure of the interwebs to pull my attention, I've been doing a little sewing.

And not just any old a little sewing but heirloom sewing.

That's right. I've bitten the bullet and started working with entredeux, lace insertion, and swiss edging. Like smocking, I'm not sure what took me so long. It just seemed so intimidating for all these years and now that I've tried it, I confess I just might be hooked. Wanna see what I'm working on?

It's a wee bit crooked on the right side on account of the one piece of advice not covered in any of my heirloom sewing technique research findings and that is to start in the middle when joining your pieces. The blue markings in the middle might be where I add some embroidery but I'm thinking the bits from the eyelet already there are probably enough.

I'm not going to tell you what I'm making though. I'm going to keep it a surprise but if you want a hint, I'm calling it the Rose Dewitt Bukater. And that's all I'll say. So if you want to know more, you'll just have to check up on me.
